Congratulations to all who passed their gradings last night in both the junior and adult jujutsu classes at Pirelli Social Club Dojo!
Junior results include a mix of yellow, orange and green belts awarded, with adults gaining:
Within Motoha Yoshin Ryu JuJutsu, the Japanese do not use a coloured belt system or perform gradings until Shodan (Beginner Dan, often referred to as 1st Dan). Those training start wearing a white belt and transition directly to black if they pass the grading.
The concept of coloured belts and gradings before black belt level is generally a western, modern addition to many martial arts, with each style often having its own different choice of colours and progression between these.
The next Motoha Yoshin Ryu Taikai is happening in June 2015 - Soke arrives from Japan on June 9th and the training events and dates are still in the process of being confirmed, however the following information is where we are at present:
Saturday 13th - Group Training 10:30 to 6pm - Pirelli Social Club
Lunch buffet at Pirelli. Early group meal after training.
Sunday 14th - Group Training / Gradings 10:30 to 6pm - Pirelli Social Club
